Data sources and methodology
We refresh official vendor status pages about every five minutes and save one shared snapshot. Opening a page reads that snapshot. It does not call the vendor.
When a feed fails, the service page says so, keeps the last known status if we have one, links the official page, and still shows upstream tools plus a checklist. We do not guess a green light.
URL checks on /check are the exception: they fetch the host you typed. A block or login wall is treated as the host being up, not down.

What we will not claim
- Tenant-level Microsoft 365 Service health (needs Graph + admin consent).
- A single Stripe reader's online state.
- Okta email alerts (admin-only). status.okta.com JSON, history RSS, and the original Trust RSS path return 401. The FeedBurner Atom feed is months stale. The HTML board is a Salesforce app with no parseable current-status banner, so we keep the page useful without inventing status.
- User-report heatmaps. Other sites already do that.
