Google Cloud outage status by region from the official incidents.json feed.
1. Is it down right now?
No currently open incidents in the head of the public incidents.json.
Affected regions / cells: GCP incidents name regions and zones (us-central1-b, europe-west2, …). Read those before you assume a global outage.
2. Known bug — is a fix date published?
No known bug with a published fix date right now.
No open incident in the last successful fetch.
3. Plain-English workaround
From experience
If the incident lists one zone, fail within the region before you abandon the project. Many 'GCP is down' pings are a single product (Cloud SQL, GKE, networking) in one location.
4. Upstream or scheduled?
Vendors do not publish one shared dependency map. This list is the upstream tools we watch with this service.
No upstream SaaS listed. This is a root provider on our map.
Upcoming maintenance
No upcoming window in the vendor feed.
One zone is not "GCP is down"
Open items on status.cloud.google.com name products and regions (us-central1-b, europe-west2). Historical incidents stay in incidents.json; we only treat rows without an end timestamp as live. A Cloud SQL event in one zone is not a reason to abandon the project.
Console vs API
- console.cloud.google.com error page while
gcloudstill works. The console is a website. Check whether the incident names the Console product. - GKE / Cloud SQL / Networking named in the incident. Match your actual region before you page the whole company.
- Workspace looking slow at the same time. Possible but not automatic. Check Google Workspace separately.
What we will not say
We will not mark Google Cloud "down" because a single customer's quota, billing account, or IAM binding failed. Those never appear on the public board. Official console: console.cloud.google.com.
Billing, quota, and IAM are not incidents
A disabled billing account, a 403 on a service that was never enabled, and an org policy that blocks an API never appear on status.cloud.google.com. We will not relabel them as outages. Match product, region, and project before you page leadership.
Multi-region buckets and global HTTPS load balancers hide the region in day-to-day use. When an incident names a region, check where the backend actually lives. Official status: status.cloud.google.com.
