Stripe outage status from the official Atom feed, plus Terminal/reader troubleshooting.
1. Is it down right now?
Feed last built 2026-10-05T08:26:59.000Z. We only surface items from the last 168 hours and skip titles marked resolved.
Affected regions / cells: Stripe incidents can name APIs, Checkout, Connect, or Terminal. A Terminal issue in one country is not Checkout globally.
2. Known bug — is a fix date published?
No known bug with a published fix date right now.
No open incident in the last successful fetch.
3. Plain-English workaround
From experience
Individual Stripe readers do not appear on the public board — that lives in your Stripe dashboard. If the reader is offline and the Atom feed is quiet: power, Wi-Fi, and the reader update. Keep a phone-tap or Dashboard manual charge path for the lunch rush.
4. Upstream or scheduled?
Vendors do not publish one shared dependency map. This list is the upstream tools we watch with this service.

One reader offline is not Stripe Checkout
We poll the Atom feed at stripecestatus.com (status.stripe.com/current/atom.xml). Stripe's JSON current endpoint has been seen stale in testing, so we do not use it. Card processing is multi-region. A single Terminal is not on the public feed — that lives in your Dashboard.
What to check before you panic the lunch rush
- Dashboard shows recent successful payments. The API is taking money. The reader, Wi-Fi, or a stale update is the till problem.
- API 5xx in your logs across accounts. Now the Atom feed matters. Read whether it names API, Checkout, Connect or Terminal.
- card_declined with a processor code. The issuer. Not an outage.
- Test-mode keys on a live site. Deploy mistake. The board will be green.

Connect platforms and Terminal fleets
If you are a Connect platform, a platform-level API incident is not the same as one connected account being restricted. Restricted accounts are risk reviews. Terminal fleets need Dashboard device health; they will never appear in the public Atom feed. We will not invent a reader-level verdict.
Idempotency keys and retries during a 5xx window matter more than refreshing the status page. Official Atom: status.stripe.com/current/atom.xml via stripecestatus.com.
