Service impact: Elevated packet loss
Our efforts to mitigate the elevated packet loss with a single Availability Zone (eus2-az1) in the EU-SOUTH-2 Region is still underway. We are seeing some signs of improvement as a result of multiple parallel efforts. We continue to work to confirm root cause and fully mitigate the issue. While we currently do not have an estimate for how long our actions w…

3. Plain-English workaround
From experience
If the RSS names a region you do not use, keep walking. If it names us-east-1, assume Slack, many SaaS control planes, and anything that still has a global endpoint there may wobble even when those vendors have not posted yet.
4. Upstream or scheduled?
Vendors do not publish one shared dependency map. This list is the upstream tools we watch with this service.
No upstream SaaS listed. This is a root provider on our map.
Upcoming maintenance
No upcoming window in the vendor feed.
us-east-1 is a region, not a vibe
We poll status.aws.amazon.com RSS and drop items titled resolved or "operating normally". Titles include the region: N. Virginia is us-east-1, Oregon us-west-2, Ireland eu-west-1. A us-east-1 event is the one that knocks over half the internet's control planes. If the RSS names a region you do not use, keep walking.
How this page helps a SaaS ticket
- Slack, Okta, Atlassian looking sad at the same minute. Check whether AWS named us-east-1, then whether those vendors posted. We will not invent their incidents.
- One AWS service (S3, EC2, IAM) vs many. The title usually says. IAM trouble feels "global" even when it is one region.
- Console down, APIs up (or the reverse). Treat them separately.
- Your EC2 in eu-west-2, incident in us-east-1. Your VMs may be fine while a global endpoint you forgot about is not.
Official board: status.aws.amazon.com. We do not invent a regional verdict if AWS did not name the region.
Global endpoints you forgot you use
IAM, Route 53, CloudFront, and some S3 control-plane calls still surprise teams who think they "only run in Ireland". When us-east-1 is named, check those. When only S3 in eu-west-1 is named, leave Slack out of the war room unless Slack has posted.
Official RSS: status.aws.amazon.com/rss/all.rss. We extract region codes when they appear in the title. No region in the title means we will not invent one.
