1. Is it down right now?
Intuit status.json overall=operational; QuickBooks Desktop=operational.

3. Plain-English workaround
From experience
If QBO will not load at month-end, export what you already have and do not sit on the login spinner. Payroll has its own incidents — do not assume the books being up means PAYE/IRS e-file is up. Desktop Enterprise is not this page.
4. Upstream or scheduled?
Vendors do not publish one shared dependency map. This list is the upstream tools we watch with this service.

Ledger up does not mean payroll or e-file is up
We poll status.intuit.com status.json and filter to QuickBooks. Intuit's board also covers TurboTax, Credit Karma and Mailchimp — we ignore those rows. The Statuspage-style /api/v2/summary.json URL is not served. Payroll and Payments can fail independently of the books. Desktop Enterprise is not this page.
Month-end reality
- Login spinner at month-end. Export what you already have. Sitting on the spinner does not file VAT or close the books.
- Bank feed disconnected. Often the bank, not Intuit. Reconnect that feed; do not assume QBO is down.
- Payroll / tax form named on the board. That is the incident. The ledger can still be healthy.
- QuickBooks Desktop company file locked. Your file server or a stale .lock. Not Intuit Cloud.

Accountant practices
If one client org fails and the rest of the firm opens, it is that client's user, MFA, or a bank. If every QBO org fails at once, then Intuit's QuickBooks row matters. Do not conflate Mailchimp or TurboTax rows on the same JSON file with QuickBooks.
Payroll filing deadlines are when Intuit maintenance clusters. Read upcoming items on status.intuit.com before you promise HMRC or the IRS a timestamp we did not see.
