Business apps slow or won't load (Jira, Notion, Salesforce, DocuSign, GitHub)
Jira or Notion spinning, Salesforce blank, DocuSign won't open, GitHub Actions red? Split a vendor incident from browser, SSO, VPN and config faults.
Software-as-a-service apps fail in the same few ways, which makes them easier to triage than their variety suggests. When a web app is slow or blank, the cause is usually one of: an incident at the vendor or its cloud host, the browser (extensions, cache, an outdated version), single sign-on handing over the wrong session, or the network path (VPN, proxy, SSL inspection) slowing everything that uses live connections.
The vendor status page is the first stop, but read it with care. Many apps run on AWS, Google Cloud, Azure or behind Cloudflare, and a regional incident there can slow an app before the app's own page says anything. Equally, a green status page does not prove the app is fine for you. Use the checks below, then the guide for the specific app.

FAQ
- Why is a web app slow for me but fine for colleagues?
- Usually the browser (extensions, cache, an old version) or your network path (VPN, proxy). Test in a private window and on another network before reporting an outage.
- If AWS has an incident, are my apps down?
- Not necessarily. Many apps run on AWS, often across several regions. Check the app's own status page; a regional AWS event may slow some features, or none at all.
- What should I send to IT or the vendor?
- The exact time, the URL, a screenshot of the error, whether it works in a private window and on another network, and any request or correlation ID shown on the error page.
